ROBERT A. McCABE – Portraits in Greece (GR)

This catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition Look at Me! Portraits in Greece by Robert A. McCabe held at the A. G. Leventis Gallery, Nicosia, from 11 April to 14 September 2025. Spanning from the 1950s to the present, McCabe’s images capture a world, a people, their habits and traditions, many a thing of the past. At the same time, they attest to a photograph’s timelessness and enduring impact. These photographs are accompanied by what is only a small sample of portraits from the world of Cyprus seen through the lens of the well-known Cypriot Renos Evriviades Wideson, the result of a collaboration with the Wideson family, and of Apostolos Ververis of Asia Minor.
