Τhree Photographic Trails – Nicosia: People and Places, Part 3: 1960-2004 (GR-ENG)

Photographic album dedicated to the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia’s temporary exhibition of the same name. The final part of the exhibition trilogy presents photographic aspects of Nicosia from the Museum’s ‘To Mati’ Photographic Archive and at the same time brings to light contemporary photographic evidence from members of the Cyprus Photographic Society – Nicosia Branch and other lovers of the art of photography who have attempted to ‘illustrate’ the capital city.

It is about a union of the art of photography of yesteryear and of our times,

which endeavours to take us on a perceptual journey across the place, its people and the historical events that marked their lives, such as the declaration of the Republic of Cyprus on 16 August 1960 and the accession of the island to the European Union on 1 May 2004.

The essay included was written by the Director of the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia Tzeni Lymperopoulou Savvidou.
